ESi and Tucuxi release Mapper Professional version 2.5

May 25, 2010

Today, ESi® and Tucuxi released Mapper Professional version 2.5. As premiered and trained at last week’s 2010 WebEOC® User Conference, Mapper Professional 2.5 is packed with new features and improvements to optimize the way you visualize data in WebEOC.

Hot New Features

Plume Models

  • Import plume footprints from ALOHA or similar software
  • An integrated ERG plume model tool is available

Significant Administration Improvements

  • New configuration settings are available in the WebEOC Mapper Admin page
  • The administrator can now:
    • Assign map layers to different users based on WebEOC group permissions
    • Set the order of the map layers in the Base Maps layer list and control which layers are enabled by default
    • Configure the default visibility of RSS feeds
    • Set the refresh rate of a map service
    • Select a specific input view to be used for the map input

New Projection Support

  • Mapper 2.5 adds the ability to use base maps in a non-WGS84 projection

A Refined Interface

  • The dialog box in the user interface now uses a checklist of items (instead of a menu selection list) allowing a user to enable or disable many tools at the same time
  • Different symbology can be assigned to each list item and displayed on a map
  • Live feeds can be refreshed at any time by a user

The upgrade, release notes, and revised documentation are available for download at WebEOC.com. We encourage you to review the release notes and documentation prior to upgrading to version 2.5.
